People of all faiths are welcome to participate in meetings of the Bereavement Group at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Parish, Middlesex, Sept. 30, Oct. 7 and Oct. 21. Meetings will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Parish Center (formerly Our Lady of Mount Virgin School).
The meetings provide a warm, caring environment in which participants meet other people who are dealing with similar circumstances. Whether it be the loss of a spouse, a parent, a child, a sibling, or any other relative or friend, some emotions people feel are universal and others are unique.
The support group, a branch of the parish’s Lazarus Ministry, offers tools for coping with the feelings and the challenges that occur as people who are grieving work at adjusting to life without a loved one. The group facilitators, all who have experienced their own loss of loved ones, help participants learn how to navigate through the grieving process.
There is no registration fee. Participants are asked to complete a registration form, which are available in the church near each of the entrances; at the parish office at 600 Harris Ave., Middlesex; or by calling the parish office at (732) 356- 2149.
After the registration form is submitted, a member of the ministry will contact the registrant to answer any questions.
